William, Lord Stawell, Baron of Somerton, to Jane Mitchell of Fitzhead, Somerset, widow and William Exton of the same, gentleman, of the glebe lands of the rectory of Fitzhead, and all his tithes in Fitzhead and the parsonage barn, late in the tenure of Gustavus Venner, for a term of 7 years from 29 September 1720, at a rent of £122 2/- p.a.
18: Counterpart lease (11 May 1720) by Stawell to John Speed of Wivelescombe, Somerset, yeoman, of a dwelling-house on the glebe lands of Wivelescombe converted from the Little Barn, the Parsonage Barn, the inclosure called Reeckbarton, a close of 2a., and the tithes of Wivelescombe specified, and the hay silver paid as a modus in lieu of the hay tithe from Old Auster Meade, and seats in the chancel of the church at Wivelescombe, for a term of 11 years from 23 June and 1 August 1720, at a rent of £200 p.a.; reserves all tithes and glebe lands at Fitzhead.

HENRY SULLY, M.D. Surgeon to his Majesty the King of Hanover
The Wiveliscombe Infirmary. In 1804, Dr Henry Sully and a surgeon colleague Mr Bishop Cranmer opened an infirmary and dispensary for the benefit of "servants, apprentices, labourers and mechanics.'' Dr Sully was sufficiently well connected to become surgeon to the Duke of Cumberland who later became King of Hanover. The Wiveliscombe Infirmary and Dispensary eventually became the premises for the local GPs.
