William Cox III was the heir of the Cox estates, it was a considerable amount of real estate, farms, cottages including the house known as Saunders, the mill in Chipstable, farms in Tolland, plus the town house in Wiveliscombe known as the Parsonage, part of the home tenement Weare and Lombrook, of Wiveliscombe. He was disinherited by his grandfather William Cox the Elder when he married Hannah Collard. At first it was believed that they may have been close relatives, but now the current thought is that there may have been a feud between the families.

Clerks Pool-Wiveliscombe. 1810-1893
House and 21 perches called Clerks Pool with ½ acre of orchard called Home Orchard at Langley bounded on the south and east by the turnpike road to Ford. The house was sold by William Collard of Wellington to Thomas Greedy North of Wiveliscombe, 1839 and conveyed by North to his wife Mary Anna at the time of their separation in 1846.
John North sold his moiety of the property to his sister Ann Boucher North in 1862 who mortgaged it to Joseph Knight of Tiverton and Thomas Row Densham of Bampton the same year. It was reconveyed to John North in 1890, Ann having died in 1885.
Bundle also contains the deed of separation between Thomas Greedy and Mary Anna North 1846, letters of administration 1852, and letters of administration de bonis non, 1862 for T G North, schedule of deeds 1794-1890, and receipt of title deeds for Clerks Pool, Frog Street cottages and a cottage at Maundown as further security in respect of an existing mortgage.
